Article Abstract

Lost in translation

Authors: Jeremy Dean Chapnick

Many issues can occur during the translation process. This chapter, “Lost in translation” will delve deeper into these specific issues and problems faced by both translators and non-native English-speaking authors. It will help to address the significant issues faced by those writers who are trying to write academically about various research topics. This manuscript is divided into four main problem area parts: Part 1, general translation issues; Part 2, idioms, homophones and homonyms; Part 3 translating names of institutions and technical words; Part 4, how and why authors should write more plainly.
