Ziwei Li, PhD (Stem Cell and Reproductive Biology)

Department of Molecular,Cell & Developmental Biology, University of California, Los Angeles, USA

Dr. Ziwei Li graduated from Fudan University in the majojr of Life Sciences as un undergraduate.During the undergraduate research period, she was mentored by Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator, Dr. Min Han, focusing on the study of murine developmental biology, especially on the protein SUN1 and SYNE1. Then she joind Dr. Amander Clark's lab as a PhD student studying germ cell biology and stem cell biology. After her PhD, she continued her postdoctoral fellowship still in Dr. Clark's lab to further complete the projects. She mainly focused on researching the functional role of PRMT5 (Protein Arginine Methyltransferase 5) in early germ cell and pluripotent stem cell using murine and human cells as a model, both in vitro and in vivo. Ziwei has published 7 papers with 1 first author in EMBO J, and 1 co-first author in Stem Cell Reports. She has rich experiences in scientific writing and capturing the scientific front-line.
