Fernando Gomes Romeiro, PhD

Professor of Medicine at Botucatu Medical School, UNESP – Universidade Estadual Paulista, São Paulo State, Brazil

Dr. Romeiro received his Ph.D. from Botucatu Medical School, UNESP. He is author or co-author of 11 book chapters, 52 papers and 139 abstracts. Dr. Romeiro is a member of the Brazilian Society of Hepatology and the Brazilian Gastroenterology Federation. He has been a guest editor for a special edition on liver cirrhosis in the BioMed Research International Journal.

He has received an outstanding researcher award from the Pan-American Health Society (2015, 2013 and 2012). He also received an award from the medical residents (2006) and awards from 12 studies presented by him or by his co-workers. Dr. Romeiro is ambassador of the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) since 2012. He took part in regional and national studies on Hepatology and has been a peer reviewer of 17 research journals, including the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews.
